![]() Not only you need money but you need a studio lot with efffective production capabilities, talent and creative force, distribution and also an effective marketing team(that is also very costy). So thats why those 5 gorillas have about 20% of the market each and I would say Lionsgate is the only other player, MGM was another one but it was called the zombie studio because they neared bankruptcy a couple of times. There is only a certain amount of movies per year that can hit the theatres and studios dont want to canibalize that which mean they dont want to put their movies competing next to other blockbusters movies and its VERY hard to compete with the big 5 because they got the best talent deals, the money to produce big blockbusters and the distribution pipeline. Thats because hollywood is 100 years mature market who doesnt have space for new players. What I mean is that there is a reason there are 5 majors studio and a couple of small players struggling to have 1 or 2 % of the market. Now about the mini-major, would the market allow it. Now maybe they want to get into the creative and distribution buisness but they would need to acquire something with creative and distribution capabilities like Lionsgate. They do not create anything, own any IP, no distribution. Lets say they give 50 millions to Warner to produce Dune 2 and the total budget of the movie is 200 millions then the movie makes 800 millions then Legendary would make 200 millions out of it. But he was probably just created to illustrate the game's mechanics - not to become an actual. Which means they help pay for the production of a big movie in order get a pourcentage of the profits.
